Matsubayu - within walking distance from JR Enmachi station. Has a nice outdoor bath including a chilly cold water tub that is just the ticket to cool off on those humid summer days. Has a spacious sauna, medicine bath and features a unique addition of birds and a turtle. There`s also a lounge to enjoy a refreshment afterwards. The managers ride a Harley!

Nishikiyu - a cozy, classical style bathhouse conveniently located downtown in the Nishiki market area. The water is hot...enter slowly! Includes a less scorching medicine bath and has often been on t.v. programs.

Tenshonoyu - contains real hotspring water, light brownish color with spacious outdoor bath. Nice, hot sauna and lounge with big screen t.v. and refreshments. Easiest access by bus along Nanajo street.

Kyogokuyu - Located near Senbon Imadegawa. The owners are very welcoming and the steam sauna is an added bonus. Also includes medicine bath. I had a tour of the furnace room!

Izutsu-yu - has one of the hottest sauna`s in Kyoto...perfect for those chilly winter evenings!

Katsura-yu - just a few minutes walk east of Katsura station. I meet many regular customers here and enjoy the cosy,(especially sauna!) friendly atmosphere.
